The tyranny of low expectations

They say that if you keep your expectations low you can only get positively surprised. Or atleast you cant get negatively surprised. Probably true.  But what after? I am talking about the expectations you have,  from yourself, from others,  from the world,  from that thing called luck You may get positively surprised on a low base of expectations though even that isn't really necessarily likely ( more often than not you may just not be negatively surprised though nothing really is guaranteed) But what later even if you do get positively surprisef? Because after all , its the cycle of feel good-> hope even better-> better those hopes-> feel even better that triggers a virtous cycle. True,  you can avoid a doom loop or a delusion crash by expecting nothing but is that enough really? Can you feel ecstatic if you never feel bitter on anything? Can you feel hurt if you never feel yearning? If being in a low equilirium gives comfort,  is there any incent...
